Alphabet Letter Recognition Activity – Kindergarten Literacy Center
This printable is a low-prep alphabet printable activity. It includes 26 alphabet mazes, where learners must find their way through the maze based on recognition of the uppercase and lowercase alphabet letters.

The images included on the mazes are fall themed, so this center is perfect for a Kindergarten fall literacy center! However, you can choose to use this printable any time of the year if you are looking for a simple alphabet letter recognition activity.
Materials Required – Alphabet Recognition Activity
The printable is a low-prep activity which I honestly LOVE because it makes prepping the activity a breeze.
You will need:
- Free Alphabet Mazes (at the end of the post)
- Colored paper or cardstock
- Markers, color pencils or crayons
To prep this alphabet maze activity, simply download and print the printable. You can opt to print the printable onto white paper or alternatively print it on colored cardstock for an extra pop of color. If you wish to make the activity reusable laminate the printable and complete the activity with a dry erase marker.

Using the Alphabet Mazes with your Learners
Once you have prepared the activity for your learners it can be used as a simple literacy activity for your preschoolers and kindergarteners.
Simply present the alphabet mazes to your learners with a writing item such as markers, crayons or color pencils which they can use to mark their way through the maze.
Learners will identify the letter at the top of the worksheet which mentions which letter they are required to find in the maze.
They will start at the top left of the maze and work their way through the maze coloring the boxes which contain the letter either in uppercase or lowercase. Learners can find their way through the maze until they come to the end.
If required, they can check their answers using the answer key provided.

Alphabet Kindergarten Literacy Center
This simple and low-prep alphabet activity is a great literacy center which can be used with your preschoolers and kindergartners.
Simply place the cards in a literacy center and allow your learners to practice their alphabet and letter recognition with these fun and hands-on mazes. These provide the perfect activity to combine both letter recognition with fine motor skills and puzzle solving skills.
Learners will be able to practice recognizing both uppercase and lowercase letters as well as finding their way through a maze to solve the puzzle.
